A Prayer for All Beings

Aug 2019

Hello Bright Light. I hope this finds you and yours well in all ways.

You may have noticed that we’ve been absent from sharing here for over three months. We recently moved and have been trying to get settled into our new home. Much has been unfolding behind the scenes, including heaps of healing in our Fur Tribe, finding an editor for Beaux’s book trilogy, Conscious Kids workshops, and much more. When I have more time to share what’s been unfolding, you’ll receive the full scoop! 😉

For now, this will be a quick empowering post.

Considering the current state of the nation and our world at large lately, I Am Guided to share something beautiful with you. May this uplift, inspire, and light up your world, so that you may share your Light with All who need it now and forever.

Below is a prayer from a Bodhisattva — a being uninterested in his/her liberation alone, who strives for the well-being of all living creatures:

May I be a guard for those who need protection

A guide for those on the path

A boat, a raft, a bridge for those who wish to cross the flood

May I be a lamp in the darkness

A resting place for the weary

A healing medicine for all who are sick

A vase of plenty, a tree of miracles

And for the boundless multitudes of living beings

May I bring sustenance and awakening

Enduring like the earth and sky

Until all beings are freed from sorrow

And all are awakened.

— Shantideva

Read that again, but this time out loud. Really feel it in your heart.
This powerful prayer is a proclamation. This is what it means to be In Service to All. – To be in service to every brother and sister of every color and creed; to every being who walks, crawls, flies, or swims in the sea.

We Are One.

I was so inspired by that powerful prayer, I created this video for the hearts who are here to be of Service to every being in need.

Let your voice be heard. Be the Light in the darkness. Let Love Lead.
Create the change you want to see by BECOMING the change.
Uplift yourself in every moment so you may uplift others.
Be Kind. Be Love. Be a friend to strangers.
We are all in this together, beloveds.
We Are One.

“We don’t set out to save the world; we set out to reflect on how our actions affect other hearts.” -Pema Chödrön

Hello Bright Light!

I hope this finds you and yours well in all ways.  This will be a short post as we have much to complete on our end.  This topic is important, which is why I am creating time to share the message with you now.  Let’s get to it!

🔱
Most of us are acutely aware of our own struggles; we are preoccupied with our own problems.  On our best days we do our best to sympathize with ourselves because we see our own difficulties so clearly.  But Philo of Alexandria, a Hellenistic Jewish philosopher who lived in the Roman province of Egypt in the fist half of the first century BCE, compassionately reminded his community, “Let us be kind to one another, for most of us are fighting a hard battle.”

I find it interesting that his statement is still true today in 2018.

“Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.”— Philo of Alexandria

When we feel into this sentiment and accept its truth, we allow ourselves to open our heart, which allows us to see through the lens of compassion and unconditional love.  When we accept this statement as true, we allow our small self to set aside judgement; we become the compassionate observer.  When we choose to accept this statement as true, we recognize that we couldn’t possibly know the path one is on, and how arduous it might be at the moment.  When we accept this sentiment as truth, we can humbly admit that one could never know all of what’s happening behind the scenes with every soul.

And there is always much occurring behind the scenes.

Everyone is struggling on some level; physically, mentally or spiritually.  This includes strangers, coworkers, colleagues, communities, friends, family, plants, wildlife, soulmates, and animal companions.  Everyone.

Not only are we in a world that’s not our true Home, but we all have internal and external troubles; emotional, psychological and physical.  Some are evident; most are well hidden.  Regardless of the form, everyONE is always in need of kindness.  In this regard we are all the same; we are not different.  We all share the need for kindness.  This is just one of our many commonalities as a collective.  As fellow Earth Travelers, we have so much more in common than our differences.

“Kindness Created me kind.” — A Course In Miracles

I absolutely love the photo of the Lighthouse in the image above.  It reminds me that when the world around us is in a fog, darkness, or mists of confusion, we can be the Light for others.  We can extend our love and our light just by being kind.

But here’s the catch:  To extend kindness, we must have first given this kindness to our self.  And to exclude one being from our inherent kindness is to exclude All. – For in truth, we are One.

Every Day It’s Helpful to Ask:

🔱 Am I being kind to myself?
🔱Can we be kind when others are being unkind?
🔱Can we extend kindness to ourselves?
🔱Can we be kind to ourselves when we notice we are being unkind?

🔱 Kindness IS contagious.🔱

We cannot fathom the unimaginable consequences of being kind to our self in every moment.  We cannot know the unimaginable ripple effect of extending that kindness out; the ripple effects could be life-changing for countless souls.  Know that the kindness we offer our self does matter.  For the kindness we choose to give to ourselves will naturally flow out of us and then be shared by all who need it.

And we all need kindness in every moment.

It’s Be Kind To Animals Week, so I wanted to share this quick post from a few years ago. Sending you and yours much love!

May 5-11 is Be Kind To Animals Week!

As Conscious Companions we do this every day, but this week we have the opportunity to be proactive about it and encourage others.  Here are a few of my suggestions on what YOU can do:

  • Adopt a pet from a shelter or rescue

Every year over 3.7 million animals are euthanized in U.S. shelters because they could not be adopted into loving homes. Help animals find a second chance at happiness by adopting your next animal companion from a local shelter or rescue group. If you can’t adopt, consider fostering a parrot, cat, or dog.

  • Take excellent care of your animal companion

Our animal companions need us to help keep them healthy and safe throughout their lives.  We do this is by ensuring they are on the cleanest and healthiest foods, schedule regular visits to a trusted and well respected veterinarian, make sure…
